ABI FYI: The Ripple Effect
An ABI alters friendships, marriages, and family dynamics. It introduces intense social isolation, financial strain due to a sudden loss of employment, and severe Caregiver Burnout as family members assume demanding support roles without adequate external resources.
ABI FYI is a monthly information session provided by an Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of ABI, giving participants the opportunity to learn about brain injury and its effects.
ABI FYI sessions:
- are for clients of BIAPR, their families and caregivers, and community members who are interested in learning more about acquired brain injury
- cover a variety of topics and issues relating to ABI
- discuss a different topic each month
- are offered free
ABI FYI sessions are currently held virtually on Zoom.
